Amalfina
Embark with me, unlikely pair as us
A dolphin and a shark to rule the sea
Aqua eyes are safe to place your trust
In waters vast and wide we choose to be
Remember when we used to count the waves?
Those ups and downs, they seeded our dismay
No feet to plant — old fins don’t make us brave
Impossible to lose ourselves in play
You see, a shark is only used to war
‘Till today my life a lengthy fight
And still a soldier was I on this tour
I pried into your heart in search of light
A dolphin, too, can move through life headstrong
My net cast wide, with ample space to breach
Off leaps and squeals I slowly learned your song
And dreamed of building life upon the beach
But snug became the mesh that holds you near
A tempest closing: mighty roaring swell
Destabilized, tossed in bouts of fear
Ferocious moves of mine left you unwell
By chance, bleak clouds break up, emitting rays
Like twinkling spells, light thrust in oceans deep
If incandescence could produce a phrase
The peace it sounds would I forever keep
Tranquility is now within our grasp
Through time prescribed I’ll master this new flow
Illumination cleanses oceans past
Delfina, with you anywhere I’ll go
